Chanel AW12/13 Haute Couture
Chanel Autumn Winter 2012/13 Haute Couture show presented at the Grand Palais, Paris on Tuesday 3 July 2012, proved why Chanel is so well known for it’s classic, elegant style. This collection cultivates 21st femininity.
“Renovation, evocation, continuity and the opposite of all that: I took the spirit and attitude of Mademoiselle Chanel to create something contemporary,” explains Karl Lagerfeld.
In the Grand Palais’ Salon d’honneur, transformed for the occasion into a winter garden lined with white camellias, CHANEL’s 2012/13 Fall-Winter collection responds to the idea of a “New Vintage” Haute Couture.
Vintage fashion style and 50s tweed combinations, which exuded confidence, class and appeal filled the runway. Designer Karl Lagerfeld, added his enchanting touch to a wedding dress which featured in the collection alongside a series of suits with relaxed shoulders and a sculptured structure as well as day and night dresses.
Japanese actress Rinko Kikuchi attended the show, wearing ‘look 23’ from the AW 11/12 Haute-Couture Collection bringing in a taste of a past collection reflecting CHANEL’s timelessness. Alexa Chung who wore a short tweed skirt from the Cruise Versailles Collection and Laetitia Casta who wore a short black Haute-Couture dress were among the well-known faces, which attended the early morning show.
