Alessi For Children
Italian design house Alessi are not only renowned for their high-end design and innovation, but also their philanthropic initiative, Alessi for Children.
Alessi for Children have established projects to help children around the world, in many no-so-fortunate places including Peru, Nepal, Italy and Columbia. They are continually embarking on new projects and initiatives that aim to improve the lives of children through design.
Throughout the festive season of 2012, Alessi donated €1 for every item they sold to the Alessi for Children initiative. The proceeds were used to develop, in association with humanitarian organisation Ai.Bi. a foster home in the Democratic Republic of the Congo – a nation that has not enjoyed peace for over 12 years.
The foster home in Kinshasa, Congo has since been completed and marks the first in what Alessi for Children hopes will become a series funded by the Association.
