A futuristic space: Tom Ford
William Sofield is the architect behind the design of Tom Ford’s first United Kingdom store.
Based in Los Angeles, Sofield has designed many luxurious homes and boutiques worldwide. The architect’s career has seen him create over 400 boutiques for Gucci in a series of projects that have reinvented the brand’s stores. As the Gucci Group grew Sofield has also worked on projects for other brands within the Group, envisioning spaces for Yves Saint Laurent, Bottega Veneta and Boucheron.
Sofield’s design for Tom Ford’s London store is a dark futuristic space. Known for his use of stainless steel, Sofield has incorporated chrome panelling that reflects the hints of light within the dark interior. A sleek spiral staircase fills the centre of the store and its presence becomes a key feature of the space.
Tom Ford United Kingdom is located in Knightsbridge, London.
