A modern classic. The Nikon Df.
The Nikon Df harmonises Nikon’s heritage and modern performance, resulting in a camera that possess a classic aesthetic and the latest in technology.
The Df has been designed with an emphasis on familiar intricate details made famous from previous generations, including a leather-textured top and a body mounted shutter button. Lenses that were originally designed over half a century ago for film cameras are compatible with the Df, bringing a remanent of the past into the present. From a robust feel, to mechanical dials and finely detailed craftsmanship, the Df embodies Nikon’s photographic legacy.
Despite the classic appearance, inside the Df holds advanced technology. The controls provide a tactile experience, much like the film camera models of the 1960s, yet still provide the quality of a contemporary digital SLR. The new Df pays homage to the enduring style and controls of Nikon’s distinguished “F” series of 35mm film cameras, yet features technology similar to Nikon’s professional flagship D4 D-SLR.
The Nikon Df is set for release late November 2013, and will be available in classic Nikon silver and black colour schemes. For an additional sense of nostalgia, black or brown leather carrying cases will also be available.
