Festival Internacional de Diseño Costa Rica 2014
Festival Internacional de Diseño Costa Rica (FID Costa Rica), the only multidisciplinary design event in Latin America, returns in 2014.
The Festival brings together a selection of renowned international designers, artists and creatives for three days of conferences, workshops and talks. The Festival provides a contemporary vision of the definition of design exploring traditional disciplines of typography, graphic design and architecture alongside street art and food.
Key speakers who will present during FID Costa Rica include:
Jessica Walsh: Art Director of Sagmeister & Walsh design firm in New York, Walsh was made a partner of the studio at age 25.
Carlos Amorales: The Mexican artist explores the culture of his country through his art, with a particular fascination with the power of silhouettes. Stay tuned to fluoro for an upcoming interview with Amorales.
Pedro Miguel Schiaffino: A renowned Peruvian chef who brings elements of the Peruvian Amazon to his cuisine.
James Sommerville: The designer founded his first studio ATTIK on the top floor of his grandmother’s house and today is the Vice President of Global Design at Coca-Cola.
Hani Rashid: The architect who has worked on major projects including Yas Viceroy Abu Dhabi Hotel and is a partner and founder of US firm Asymptote Architecture.
Speto: The Brazilian street artist was one of the first to practice in São Paulo. Today his work spans around the world, in over 15 countries.
FID Costa Rica takes place at the Old Customs House, in the Costa Rican capital of San José from Thursday 13 – Saturday 15 March 2014.
