Saint Laurent AW14/15
fluoro joined the house of Saint Laurent for the debut of their AW14/15 collection in Paris.
Hedi Slimane looked to the work of Californian artist John Baldessari for the design of the AW14/15 collection. The show’s invite featured a series of prints created by Baldessari, providing a hint at what was in store. Continuing the glam rock spirit of the designer, the collection offered mini skirts, shift dresses, matte gold leathers and signature motorcycle jackets. Slimane also presented three Baldessari inspired haute couture gowns in a limited edition of 10.
Music, an inherent part of the Saint Laurent house, complimented the style of the collection. Created by the young Los Angeles based singer-songwriter Clementine Creevy, the choice highlighted Slimane’s ongoing passion for rock and uncovering emerging artists. Creevy is also part of band Cherry Glazerr, whose music has previously featured in Saint Laurent videos.
The artistic element of the collection is a nod to the Yves Saint Laurent artist collaboration with Mondrian in 1965.
