Carpenters Workshop Gallery: Organic
Characterised by their inventiveness, 12 designers are brought together for a unique group show at Carpenters Workshop Gallery in Le Marais, Paris.
The exhibition titled Organic holds a focus on the materiality of the artworks found within the selection on display. Inspired or created from vegetable, animal or organic shapes and textures, these works intend to highlight nature’s aesthetic dimension, as can be seen from Brazilian designers the Campana Brothers’ Pirarucu’s skin (giant Amazonian fish) buffet.
The artists have imagined functional sculptures whose shapes refer to the complexity of the organic reality. Through their reinterpretation of nature’s elements, the artists have invented a new visual vocabulary.
Artists who are participating in the exhibition include Atelier Van Lieshout, Andrea Branzi, Humberto & Fernando Campana, Wendell Castle, Ingrid Donat, Vincent Dubourg, Lonneke Gordijn & Ralph Nauta, Joris Laarman, Frederik Molenschot, Marc Quinn, Rick Owens, Pablo Reinoso, Robert Stadler and Charles Trevelyan.
Organic is on display until Saturday 23 August 2014 at Carpenters Workshop Gallery, Paris.
