19 Greek Street: Experiencing Design
Critically acclaimed London design gallery, 19 Greek Street, have launched a new café that reflects the ethos and design of the gallery.
The café at 19 Greek Street aims to act as a hub for design enthusiasts and professionals. The gallery’s eclectic aesthetic is reflected in the café’s interiors, designed by Marc Peridis, Founder and Creative Director of 19 Greek Street. Pieces include seating made from discarded office chairs by Danish designer Nina Tolstrup, a coffee table built from repurposed hardcover books by Dutch designer Richard Hutten and an installation of suspended fishing wire and black wool made to look like real furniture by Italian duo Andrea Mancuso and Emilia Serra.
“The past 18 months, our carefully curated collections were received with great enthusiasm and praise. We feel its time to get more people enjoying them at more interactive level, by sitting on them, eating on it, touching or drinking from them. Good design, by definition, should not merely be observed,” said Peridis.
The café is open seven days a week and is located on the first floor of the 19 Greek Street gallery space in London, England. Design Cafe will open with an event on at 19 Greek Street on Tuesday 24 June 2014. Click here to RSVP to the opening night.
