Maison Martin Margiela: Heritage
A new collection of jewellery from Maison Martin Margiela, titled Heritage, revives the brand’s interest in fine jewellery.
After three years of an absence of fine jewellery production, Maison Martin Margiela have released this collection, which looks to the traditions associated with family history and marriage. The Heritage collection is broken into four themes – Alliance, Solitaire, Pompadour and Chevalière.
The pieces themselves are a contemporary take on traditionally conservative fine jewellery, including unisex rings. A ring from the Solitaire theme features a bisected diamond, which the brand intends to “encapsulate the irregular nature of love, moving beyond the classical notion of marriage.”
The line has been launched at New York gallery Cheim & Read, highlighting how art is ingrained in Maison Martin Margiela’s DNA.
