Nike: Genealogy of Free Black Pack
To celebrate the 10th anniversary of Nike Free, Nike is set to release the Genealogy of Free Black Pack.
The pack will highlight three shoes that are equipped with the Nike Free technology as well as three additional styles that influenced the creation of Nike Free, each in a new black edition. The six styles include the Nike Sock Racer, Nike Air Rift, Nike Free 5.0, Nike Free Run+ 2, Nike Free 5.0 OG and Nike Air Presto, which will all be exclusively released in a limited black colour.
The Nike Free was launched in 2004 with the shoes’ technology aiming to mimic the qualities of running barefoot on grass. A range of professional athletes have adopted the technology, as has NASA. Find out more about the history of the Nike Free here.
To celebrate the release, an image series by photographer Ben Clement for Champ Creative, captures Tokyo running crew AFE TOKYO running together in Nakameguro, Tokyo. A Black Night Run on Wednesday 30 July 2014 will invite runners from around the globe from Asia to Europe to run together in their city, wearing their darkest clothes with reflectors.
Nike will release the Genealogy of Free Black Pack on Thursday 31 July 2014. The pack will be available at the NikeLab store at Ginza’s Dover Street Market in Tokyo, Japan and online.
