London Design Festival: Bethan Gray
Harrods, London will host an exclusive series of products from Welsh designer Bethan Gray in a pop-up store during London Design Festival 2014.
Along with the exclusive products, the pop up store will feature a selection of Bethan Gray’s most popular pieces from her award-winning studio. The new Carve furniture collection will take centre stage. With a marble-topped dining table and a wooden base the Carve dining table combines Bethan Gray’s signature use of high quality, hand-selected natural materials with detailed production techniques, to produce contemporary yet timeless designs.
Also exclusive to Harrods is a range of Stud mirrors. Taking inspiration from the studwork traditionally found on Asian and Arabic doors, the Stud mirrors feature a leather strip around the rim onto which brass or nickel studs have been carefully applied by hand. A number of other pieces will also be on display.
Gray was the winner of the prestigious Best British Designer Award 2013. The designer combines a passion for using luxurious natural materials – leather, marble and solid wood – with an extensive knowledge of craftsmanship and cutting-edge manufacturing technologies.
The pop-up store will be open throughout the duration of the London Design Festival, which runs until Sunday 21 September. The store will also remain open at Harrods until Sunday 5 October 2014.
