PULP: A Film About Life, Death & Supermarkets unveils the story of the iconic Britpop band and their enigmatic front man Jarvis Cocker.
The documentary reflects on the band’s journey from their hometown Sheffield in the UK to the world stage. PULP’s energy and success remains influential on the regional English city. Director Florian Habicht weaves together the band’s personal offerings with dream-like tableaux, featuring ordinary people recruited on the streets of Sheffield unveiling the deep affection they have for the band.
After finding world fame and selling over 10 million albums, the band returns for Sheffield for their last UK concert. It is here that the documentary is centred and includes interviews the band members.
PULP: A Film About Life, Death & Supermarkets captures the spirit of PULP and their larger influence beyond the stage. It is available on DVD in Australia and will be released in US theatres on Wednesday 19 November 2014.
