Azzedine Alaïa Gallery: Bettina
Fashion icon Simone Micheline Bodin, known as Bettina or Bettina Graziani, enthralled the world with her modelling work and innate grace. She will be the focus of an exhibition titled Bettina to be featured at Galerie Azzedine Alaïa in Paris.
The exhibition will feature photos of Graziani throughout her modelling career in Paris, from famous photographers like Louise Dahl-Wolfe, Gordon Parks, Irving Penn and Maurice Zalewski.
Dubbed Bettina by Jacques Fath, Fath designed a series of thirty dresses for her. Her chic nature provided a refreshing contrast to the sophistication that made most models of that period look so frozen and stiff. Graziani was Fath’s muse and soon all fashion magazines wanted pictures of her. In a matter of months she was the top cover girl in France gracing the cover of Vogue, Elle and a style that was unrivalled in her time.
The exhibition opens on Thursday 13 November 2014 and will continue until Sunday 11 January 2015 at Galerie Azzedine Alaïa 18, rue de la verrerie 75003 Paris, France.
