Simone Rocha and J Brand: New Collection
Simone Rocha has collaborated with J Brand on a new collection, which focuses on denim.
Rocha, who’s never worked with denim before, worked against the grain and tried to treat it like any other fabric when she was creating the collection inside J Brand’s headquarters in California.
The result is the production of a new 20-piece collection inspired by a school uniform. Vibrant colours seen in flowers and foliage around the schoolyard are used across the collection, all across one of the most robust fabrics in the designer pool.
From sleeveless jean jackets, ruffled dresses and cropped pants, the new collection embodies Rosha’s goal of designing the garments behind the idea of feeling a little awkward, young and naive.
The collection is currently available at Dover Street Market and will be available at Selfridges and Net-A-Porter on Wednesday 2 December 2014.
