Haute Couture SS15: Chanel
Chanel’s SS15 Haute Couture collection brought out spring with an elegant floral hit as part of Paris Fashion Week.
The presentation was held in a fairytale like setting. The stage was made up of a parade circling a decorated silver winter forest with grey flowers that blossomed when “watered” by male models dressed as gardeners. This scene was turned into flowering spring as the models entered, looking like flower children and fairies in colours of light pink coral, blues and reds.
The collection had a dazzling romantic, bohemian, relaxed feel. It included dresses sprinkled with poppies, a variety of embellished skirts, many worn with black sock-shoes and jackets in a variety of shapes and lengths. Petal prints, organza, beaded tweed and silk flowers reappeared throughout the show.
Edwardian wide-brimmed hats, delicate looking cashmere beanies with chiffon flowers and jewels. Throughout the collection a belly-bearing look seemed to resurface, leading thoughts to 60s free-love style. Also present was the little black dress touched up with slices of pleated chiffon and banded organza.
The Paris Haute Couture SS15 season continues. Stay tuned to fluoro for more.
