Zona MACO: 2015
Each year, Latin America’s largest contemporary art fair, Zona MACO, brings together collectors, specialists and galleries from all over the world in Mexico City for five days.
Through its five sections as described across fluoro General, New Proposals, Zona MACO Sur, Modern Art, and Design – the fair presents pieces of art from more than a hundred galleries and cultural institutions. The art fair has become a platform for international contemporary art offering a series of conferences and presentations by artists, designers and curators, aiming to promote stronger ties between contemporary art and the art market.
From Andrehn-Schiptjenko (Stockholm), Cayon (Madrid), Hales (London), to Patricia Conde (Mexico City),and many more, Zona MACO introduces art from established international galleries all over the world through its main section. Through its other sections Zona MACO presents contemporary, design and art with powerful messages, bringing a comprehensive insight into the international world of art.
Apart from displaying established artists the art fair encourages and promotes emerging artists through its New Proposals section, which is dedicated solely to projects by artists under the age of 35. This year the section will see a dominant number of proposals from galleries in New York, including Marc Straus, De Buck Gallery and Johannes Vogt.
Zona MACO opens on Wednesday 4 February and will conclude on Sunday 8 February 2015 in a range of galleries and museums across Mexico City.
