Bang & Olufsen: The Love Affair
Bang & Olufsen commemorates its 90th birthday with the launch of a curated collection that includes their most iconic products in a new colour nuance called Rose Golden.
The exclusive collection, called The Love Affair Collection, sees six of Bang & Olufsen’s current products rejuvenated in a new palette option as a response to the growing desire for beautiful materials. The jewellery industry, in particular, has experienced a rose gold resurgence, which Bang & Olufsen has adopted in the new collection.
While the choice of rose gold follows industry trends, the underlying meaning for this colour is more of an emotive one. White gold is known to symbolise friendship, and yellow gold, fidelity. Rose gold on the other hand represents love and is therefore the ideal choice for this collection.
The Love Affair Collection is developed to capture the hearts of the customers who have enjoyed a love affair with the company over its 90-year history. Peter Bang and Svend Olufsen, the two Danish engineers that founded the company in the 1920’s started the journey into technology when it was still considered an almost magical wonder. Besides the growth of technology, those times also saw a flourish of Art Deco, characterising the time as one of luxury, glamour and vitality. The Love Affair Collection captures just that.
The warm colour fabrics of the collection were developed in cooperation with fashion designer Stine Goya. The rose gold colour was achieved through a special dying process and is combined with warm and elegant walnut wood, bridging past and present to represent Bang & Olufsen’s passion, pride and persistence over the last 90 years.
The Love Affair Collection consists of the ultra HD TV BeoVision Avant 85”, the all-in one entertainment solution BeoVision 11-46 and a BeoRemote One. Also in the collection are the popular magic-touch music system BeoPlay A9, and the lightweight headphones BeoPlay H6. Finally, the collection features the classic BeoLab 18 loudspeakers in a new walnut lamella front and a cabinet in rose gold.
