Christian Lacroix: Nouveaux Mondes
Christian Lacroix Maison presents a new exotic collection of fabric, wallpapers and accessories for Designers Guild. The new collection titled Nouveaux Mondes was brought to life with a tropical paradise and the House of Lacroix’s energy and love for vibrancy in mind.
Intense colours and textures are used to represent the wild beauty of nature in an undiscovered world, celebrating the exotic flora of a journey through rainforests, wildlife and leafy vegetation on Caribbean islands. Each design within Nouveaux Mondes reflects a certain element of this exotic world.
The Manaos design is an illustration of exotic fruits hanging from canopies in the heart of the forest, while Mariposa and Rio depict a diverse range of butterflies and winged insects layered in air. Igacu display the glistening colours of a waterfall as it casts out reflections of sunlight, while Canopy displays a vibrant forest canopy with feathers, flowers, and exotic plants. Reflecting the animal world, Pantigre provides a dreamy combination of exotic shades leading thoughts to panthers and tigers.
Taking distance from the forest, the Barbade design withdraws to a calm moment of reflection and serenity with the resemblance of a sunbathed elegant wicker basket pattern that leads the thoughts to market stalls filled with nature’s delights.
Noveaux Mondes is yet another line launched by the House of Lacroix with Creative Director Sacha Walckhoff at its head. Since Walckhoff’s accession, a vibrant reinvention of the House’s signature themes has been seen through all its collections from fashion accessories, and home interiors to its Men’s Ready to Wear lines. Alongside the Noveaux Mondes collection, Christian Lacroix Maison has also launched Atelier Camargue a collection of four fabric designs inspired by the Mediterranean Sea as well as a new stationery range.
