In celebration of global design fluoro is giving away two experiences; the first at The Gate Hotel Kaminarimon in Tokyo, Japan and the second at GLAD Hotel Yeouido in Seoul, South Korea valued together at over AUD$1,500.

The two giveaways encompass a stay at these high-end Design Hotels^TM properties allowing two fluoro readers the opportunity to immerse themselves in a world of original architecture and interior design.

We have turned our focus to design in Asia and have selected The Gate Hotel Kaminarimon and GLAD Hotel Yeouido, to represent the unique and comprehensive experience that every member of Design Hotels^TM prides itself in. A Gateway to the Essence of Tokyo: The Gate Hotel Kaminarimon.

Our giveaway offers the opportunity to experience Japanese design at its best in Tokyo, a city that prides itself on constant renewal and reinvention combining traditional culture with a futuristic perspective.

Neighbouring some of Tokyo’s most important historic sites, The Gate Hotel Kaminarimon stands poised between Tokyo’s oldest districts rooming the city’s cultural heritage, and a radiant modern day Tokyo. Representing Japanese originality, Shigeru Uchida, one of the country’s most prominent designers, stands behind the architecture of the hotel. Uchida whose work spans from interior design and furniture to industrial design, architecture and urban planning believes that design is a bridging medium between people, society, and nature. This belief is strongly reflected in The Gate Hotel Kaminarimon from its location to its space as a contemporary creative centre.

Upon entering the hotel’s 13^th floor lobby a panoramic view of Tokyo welcomes visitors with some of the city’s most important landmarks in sight including Tokyo Skytree and the Kaminarimon Gate. Committed to artistic design the hotel’s interior combines simple elegance with bold touches of urban vitality.

The hotel’s devotion to art and design is reflected across select rooms and suites with a number of iconic artists, such as Marimekko designer Mamoru Suzuki, displaying their artwork across the hotel. Textile, designed by Suzuki, are used as wall hanging art in some rooms and original artwork by acclaimed Japanese artist Katsuhiko Hibino also features across the hotel. Among other works, Hibino created five large-scale abstract paintings inspired by the interplay between the space’s architectural design and the vibrant neighbourhood surrounding it.

An Expression of Urban Design: GLAD Hotel Yeouido.

Characterised by its unique yet functional design and creative use of space and lighting, GLAD Hotel Yeouido combines tradition with contemporary design in an innovative way.

Located in the vibrant district of Yeouido, known as Seoul’s Manhattan, the hotel’s bold brick exterior stands in stark contrast to the glass buildings surrounding it. Its interiors give visitors a street experience with street signs decorating many of the 319 rooms. At the same time high-quality natural materials are used in the bedding and interiors of all the rooms and suites to give a feeling of calm and warmth in all spaces.

The Experience.

Both experiences offer a two-night stay for two people in a double occupancy room at their preferred hotel. The experience includes a stay in a Style E room at The Gate Hotel Kaminarimon, Tokyo valued at over AUD$750 or a Deluxe Room room at GLAD Hotel Yeouido, Seoul valued at over AUD$860. Breakfast is included in both experiences.
