Chanel: Saint-Tropez 2015
Chanel has returned to its temporary summer residence at La Mistralée private mansion in Saint-Tropez, France setting up its ephemeral boutique.
Each year Chanel returns to this space transforming it with a new décor to display its most recent Ready to Wear, accessories, watches and fine jewellery collections. In addition, the boutique also rooms the House’s fragrances, skincare and beauty ranges.
Over time La Mistralée has seen one example after another of luxurious interior decoration and furnishings from the House. The image gallery opposite takes you inside the 2015 boutique, and also presents outside visuals of the 2014 and 2013 boutiques for comparison. This season, Chanel presents a different feel to the mansion, making use of clean lines and monochrome tones. The furniture consists of modern and minimal glass and chrome furnishings presented in colours that match each room.
Each area is painted in a single shade ranging from navy and blue to burgundy, pink, nude and gold and only a few are decorated with floral wallpaper. The floors are decorated with burgundy red parquet floors in reference to the iconic Chanel handbag interiors.
The path concludes at the verrière, a sunlit room with a glass-roof. With a rotunda ceiling, the room displays a large-scale camellia shaped chandelier with white and golden patterns. The navy blue vestibule contains the SS15 Ready to Wear collection while the salon in pink shades displays accessories and shoes. At the heart of the verriére a selection of watches are on display from the Première, J12 and Mademoiselle Privé collections alongside a selection of Ready to Wear pieces.
Outside, La Mistralée presents a luxuriant garden and a pool featuring another large floating camellia. Dispersed across the exterior space are a range of wooden tables with burgundy, celadon, mint and mustard yellow lacquered stools. The pool house of the mansion is dedicated to beauty, fragrances and beachwear.
In its entirety, this season’s look presents visitors with a fresh, contemporary feel that is elegant in its simplicity, yet eye-catching in its choice of colour and material.
Chanel’s ephemeral Saint-Tropez boutique will remain open until October 2015.
