Hiatus Kaiyote: Choose Your Weapon
Hiatus Kaiyote release their long awaited 18-track album Choose Your Weapon.
The Grammy-nominated Australian band consists of four members Nai Palm on vocals and guitar, Paul Bender on bass, Perrin Moss on drums and percussion and Simon Mavin on keyboards. Since their debut album Tawk Tomahawk in 2013, appreciated by artists such as Questlove, Erykah Badu, Pharell and Prince, Hiatus Kaiyote have been pushing boundaries in music creating a special neo-soul sound.
Choose Your Weapon takes listeners on a journey through the group’s musical world with tracks that surprise in terms of rhythmic changes and rich chord. Drawing from R&B, jazz, electronica, nature and video games, the album includes a mixture completely unique to the band.
The band is currently touring the USA debuting tracks from their new album and spreading their tunes across the country. As part of their tour Hiatus Kaiyote participated in several SXSW shows. Following USA the band will be touring Europe including the UK, France, Germany and the Netherlands before returning to Australia in late 2015.
