Abel Cárcamo: Nomad Table
Chilean industrial designer Abel Cárcamo, presents a new detachable side table within his Nomad collection.
The side table is a collaborative effort between Cárcamo and furniture designer Carlos Leon. Combining handmade and industrial crafts, it makes use of a painted metal structure combined with pieces of natural Lenga wood, a native wood of Patagonia, Chile.
The mixture of materials seen in the side table and the simple connection between its parts makes it a practical, yet aesthetically charming piece in its composition. The minimalist design approach to the piece makes it suitable as a functional, modern stroke to a variety of spaces.
The versatile side table forms the latest addition to the collaborative Nomad collection by the same designers, which also consists of a stool. Similar to the table, the stool make use of metal and wood in a simple construction. The geometric duality and simplicity make them adaptable to different spaces, which formed a key objective throughout their design process. Consisting of painted aluminium and Lenga wood, the stools are handmade by local craftsmen, preserving and maintaining the thousand-year old production traditions of the country.
The pieces within the Nomad collection by Cárcamo are available in white and black metal.
