adidas Originals X wings+horns
adidas Originals have teamed up with wings+horns to release a new SS15 capsule collection of footwear and apparel.
wings+horns is a Canadian contemporary menswear label that are known for combining innovative fabrics with a Japanese approach to detail. With a focus on design quality and integrity, the label finds inspiration in the Canadian landscape. Ten years on, their products are still proudly made in Canada.
Sharing their passion for high-end contemporary menswear, adidas Originals and wings+horns together created this collection, which is inspired by the West Point Academy football team and incorporates a military aesthetic interpreted through an athletic lens. With this military aesthetic crossed with sport-centric elements, the collection conveys a brute force and rugged nature through its pieces. Ease of movement is heavily considered and garments feature articulation and gusseting while maintaining the signature wings+horns silhouette.
The collection covers two assortments, one in which all styles are offered in grey, and one in which all pieces are black. It features slim fit sweatpants with football-inspired knee detail, short-sleeve crewnecks with mesh panelling and bomber jackets with zip-off hoods.
Completing both series, and forming a highlight in the collection, is a premium, leather edition of the adidas Stan Smith sneaker with perforated stripes, a reinforced rough-out heel and hand-stitched heel seams. The leather used for the sneaker is made from authentic Horween football leather. Complementing the colour palette of the clothing series, the sneaker is available in both black and grey.
The adidas Originals X wings+horns collection will launch on Saturday 11 July 2015 at the wings+horns showroom in Vancouver, Canada. Limited quantities of footwear and apparel will be available in-store exclusively from 9.00am – 1.00pm (PST) and on the wings+horns website at 1.00pm (PST). The collection will launch globally at select retailers on Saturday 18 July 2015.
