LE BOOK X Maripol X Diplo
LE BOOK have released their NEW YORK 2015 edition featuring photography of Maripol which has been curated by Diplo.
LE BOOK was invented in 1982 by Veronique Kolasa in Paris as a private resource for her closest creative friends. It quickly became The Bible of the Image Industries and a limited edition guide to the creative community in Paris. The first edition of LE BOOK New York was released in 1995, London in 1999, and Berlin in 2009 for Germany and Eastern Europe.
Now, bringing together the two creative forces, Maripol and Diplo, LE BOOK present their NEW YORK 2015 Collector’s Edition.
Maripol is internationally known for her framed Polaroid portraits of 1980’s New York Downtown icons, which has been exhibited in art galleries across the world. Her Polaroid portraits, which resemble Instagram-style imagery, were developed years before the Internet existed. Maripol was not only a photographic artist, but also a film producer, fashion designer and one of the most sought-ought fashion stylists of her era. She had a great influence on the looks of many prominent artists including Grace Jones and Madonna.
Diplo, curator of the Maripol visuals in LE BOOK’s 2015 Collector’s Edition, are one of the most dynamic forces in music today. Diplo is as much an international brand himself, as he is a musician, DJ and producer defining modern dance music while re-formulating the sounds of artists such as Madonna.
The participation of the three parties, LE BOOK, Maripol and Diplo make the new edition an aligned voice for the international creative industries. The book is available in a limited number of copies on LE BOOK’s website.
