The Journey of Hotel Unique
Design has the power to take you on a journey, and São Paulo Brazil is where this next tale starts. With thanks to Design Hotels™ fluoro was immersed in the high-end design of Hotel Unique.
As you walk down Avenida Brigadeiro Luis Antonio what is not expected is a sight like Hotel Unique. Reminiscent of an ocean liner with porthole style windows, green rustic copper and a curved base defining the façade, the architecture stands out, as a high-end art piece should. When looking out from the hotel, it’s design greatly influences the way the local surroundings are viewed, seen at a distance as if on a ship gazing out at far land. São Paulo can be perceived as a dark city, but the space creates the feeling of lightness. Designed by architect Ruy Ohtake and located in the exclusive Jardins neighbourhood the structure holds you above the rambling Brazilian city.
Each of the 95 rooms are instilled with a sense of calm, privacy and luxury. Our space provided an area for work, relaxation and the ability to be immersed in a haven from the outside world. A smart design utilised the compact space to create a flexible and personalised room. Away from the world you were immersed in a space planned to open you up to a world of design and fine details. Bulgari products used within the bathrooms and Havaianas slippers supplied were the perfect touch to unwind in a place where each detail is considered.
Interior design by João Armentano sees an emphasis on clean luxury characterise the furnishings throughout. Wooden flooring and white furniture compliment glass panels, creating lightness within the rooms and reception areas. While the rooms are equipped with high-tech details, they are accompanied by soft modern furniture designed to offer a high level of comfort and warmth.
Lighting plays an important part in the aesthetic of the hotel, with its design allowing light to filter through the space during the day, with diffused light guiding you along the hallways at night. The rooftop terrace at the Skye Bar and restaurant provides an extensive view of São Paulo where a crimson pool adds a sense of drama to the design. The rooftop in particular allows of viewing of the heights of São Paulo’s buildings in a relaxing setting. Other features such as a fitness centre and the hotel’s numerous public spaces continue the unique design.
Hotel Unique allows calm in an otherwise busy city, providing a space to experience a gratifying sense of solitude.
