Antoine d’Agata: Antibodies
Both controversial and captivating, Antoine d’Agata’s photographs are brought together in his first book since 2005, titled Antibodies.
Containing striking images of people living on the fringes of society, Antibodies is a challenging and fascinating collection from one of the most renowned photographers working today. D’Agata has traveled the world’s darkest corners collecting images of prostitutes, addicts, war-torn communities, and the homeless. A nomad himself, d’Agata tackles subjects often left untouched, unnoticed, or ignored. Frequently compared to his mentors Nan Goldin and Larry Clark, d’Agata’s work, for all it’s grim and occasionally terrifying realism, bears the hallmarks of timeless photography.
This hardcover volume features images from a number of d’Agata’s series, interspersed with short texts as well as essays and commentary. The 560 pages of Antibodies hold over 2,500 images immersing readers in d’Agata’s artistic vision.
The hardcover title Antibodies is available now through Prestel Publishing.
