Larry Levan Way
In a tribute to the iconic DJ, a local initiative has seen momentum to rename King Street in New York to Larry Levan Way, claiming the street for one day.
Levan is known for his legendary residency at Paradise Garage, New York during the 1970s and 1980s. Working with artists such as Grace Jones, Aretha Franklin, and Nile Rodgers, he formed his legacy as an influential DJ of his time.
Levan has long inspired Miguel Valenzuela, fluoro’s Creative Director for his style and creativity, contributions to the genre and bringing disco into the mainstream world.
The petition for renaming the street can be signed here.
