Venice Biennale: Ettore Scola
The Jaeger-LeCoultre Glory to the Filmmaker 2013 prize of the 70th Venice International Film Festival will be awarded to the master of Italian cinema, Ettore Scola.
Ettore Scola has brought major innovation to contemporary cinema and has directed over 40 films since the 1960s. The prize will be presented to Scola at an awards ceremony on Friday 6 September during the Festival.
Following the conferral of the award, the Festival will present the world premiere of Scola’s latest film, ‘Che strano chiamarsi Federico!’ (What a Strange Name was Federico!). The film is a tribute to Federico Fellini on the 20th anniversary of his death.
The 70th Venice International Film Festival takes place from Wednesday 28 August until Saturday 7 September 2013 and is a collateral event of the 55th Venice Biennale.
