Milano Film Festival
The parks, carparks, alleys, museums and galleries of Milan are set to be transformed into cinemas for the 2013 edition of the Milano Film Festival.
The Festival truly explores the genre of film, not limited to feature films but also includes innovative music film clips, short animations and audio-visual projects. See below for fluoro’s picks.
– Finding the Funk: Before funk returned in great form through the likes of Daft Punk and Pharell, funk had been a revolution that permanently changed contemporary sound. Looking for the connections between the various faces of the genre Finding the Funk, directed by Nelson George, accurately surveys the almost half-century of the history of funk.
– Aydin, Discodeine: Pleix is a group of French digital artists that alternate between fashion photography, music videos, animations for advertising and gaming illustrations. Their filmclip for Discodeine takes the viewer on a hallucinatory journey in fluorescents.
– Lunarcy!: Director Simon Ennis originally set out to create a scientific documentary about the moon, and what remains of the space missions that kept the world in suspense for so many years. Instead, what is revealed is a portrait of unique individuals who have a bond to the moon.
The Milano Film Festival runs from Thursday 5 until Sunday 15 September 2013 at public venues across Milan, Italy.
