VIBIA: Creativity – Innovation – Collaboration
Founded in Barcelona in 1987, lighting manufacturer VIBIA has evolved from specialising in decorative lighting to incorporating more sophisticated and innovative designs, and sharing creation with professionals.
VIBIA have introduced a range of new lighting categories called Sculptural Pendants, Skylights, Wall Arts, Furniture meets Light, Landscape Integration Lighting, Digital Co-creation and Spot(less). Taking an original approach to lighting, the company is moving toward generating a unique atmosphere in spaces with fixtures that are equally as functional whether they are turned on, or off.
VIBIA’s new designs explore how to evoke emotion and surprise in spaces through an advanced level of technical ability that generates invisible technology allowing for an enchanting, magical effect of its lighting fixtures.
Within VIBIA’s categories are new creations such as Algorithm, an endless composition of light globes suspended at different heights from a ceiling anchor. Algorithm is inspired by the compositional beauty of mathematical order and generates its own shadows and visual effects through its tubular network.
Another piece is Curtain, a combined light fitting and partitioning system that can be used as a suspended chandelier of assorted hanging light planes or as a floor to ceiling partition system for office and professional spaces.
Finally, to reinforce VIBIA’s statement of Light as Creation, Halo, Set, and Pin have been created. Each demonstrates the new species of lighting that serves not only their function, but also as decorative pieces of art even when switched off.
Alongside its innovative approach to lighting manufacture, VIBIA currently leads a new trend that goes beyond decoration and function towards a sphere of shared creativity. Through a consistent pursuit of innovation, VIBIA is building strong connections with architecture and interior design professionals, offering them an extensive range of tools to invite their creativity on an online platform. The objective is to stimulate creation and customised designs by allowing professionals to preview and visualize the lighting result in the desired setting. When the customised light fixture has been created, VIBIA oversees its assembly and elaborates specific technical instructions in order to install it.
