Aurora Fashion Week
Aurora Fashion Week Russia (AFWR) returns to St Petersburg, Russia for its seventh season.
Taking place in the Russian Academy of Fine Arts Museum, an 18th century heritage building with a unique art collection, AFWR will see new names introduced alongside established Russian designers.
The city of St Petersburg will also embrace the celebration of fashion through a range of side events during the week of AFWR. Some notable events include:
– Louis Vuitton boutique and Harper’s Bazaar will present Natalia Alaverdyan’s “Time travel” photo project, displaying Alaverdyan’s works alongside signature pieces from past Louis Vuitton collections.
– Conference, Fashionomica will provide a business perspective, hosting lectures from leaders of the fashion industry discussing the challenges of fashion commerce.
– The National Library of Russia, in collaboration with AFWR, will present an exhibition “Love affair with fashion. Dandyism.” dedicated to the sociocultural phenomenon over the past three centuries.
AFWR will take place from Monday 15 April until Sunday 21 April 2013. Autumn/Winter collections will be shown.
