Longchamp: AW11 Collection
Longchamp privately showcased their AW11 collection with an abundance of history, high quality, passion, and a fourth season with Kate Moss.
Inspired by the idea of a modern Amazon, Longchamp’s collection is based on the celebration of mythological heroines, celebrated for their warrior spirit and equestrian skills.
Longchamp devoted the Balzane bag to all the strong, self-willed women who stride through life with flair and fortitude. The Balzane is known for its trompe-l’oeil saddle-cum-flap, which is secured by a bridle-style strap with a chunky metal buckle. Specially chosen for its luxuriously thick, supple quality, young bull leather, it gives the Balzane an authentic equestrian feel which is further enhanced by quality detailing, including rivets and saddle-stitching.
For a fourth season Kate Moss has collaborated with the iconic brand. Inspired by her very own wardrobe, Kate chose a python print as a one-off interpretation of the famed Gloucester duffle bag, which was also Kate’s personal favourite. “I was inspired by a vintage miniskirt of mine,” she explains, “which has a mixture of brown and black shades. I thought that was different and more interesting than the usual snakeskin, so I asked Longchamp to recreate the effect on calfskin.”
This season, Longchamp will also launch their first ever men’s range of high-quality leathergoods.
