Venice Biennale: It’s Here
Bringing together all facets of design, the Venice Biennale returns for its 55th edition. The event continues to be a hub for contemporary art and design lovers who unite every two years.
This edition of the Biennale will see 88 participating countries, ten of which are making their very first appearance, including Angola, Kuwait, Paraguay and Tuvalu.
The Biennale encompasses a diverse range of culture-focused events featuring:
Art: The 55th International Art Exhibition, explores the title, The Encyclopedic Palace . It will run from Saturday 1 June to Sunday 24 November 2013. Curator and contemporary art critic Massimiliano Gioni is the exhibition’s Director.
Architecture: The 14th International Architecture Exhibition is on display from Friday 7 June until Saturday 23 November 2013 and is directed by Dutch architect, Rem Koolhaas.
Music: The 57th International Festival of Contemporary Music will be held from Friday 4 October until Sunday 13 October 2013, directed by Italian Composer Ivan Fedele.
Cinema: The 70th Venice Film festival runs from Wednesday 28 August until Saturday 7 September 2013.
Theatre: The 42nd International Theatre Festival will take place from Thursday 1 August until Sunday 11 August 2013 and is lead by Spanish director Àlex Rigola.
Dance: The Dance Biennale runs until Sunday 30 June 2013.
