Tokyo Fashion Week AW14/15
With the approach of Tokyo Fashion Week, we focus on a selection of designers who are presenting their AW14/15 collections.
Hiroyuki Horihata and Makiko Sekiguchi
Hiroyuki Horihata and Makiko Sekiguchi founded Matohu in 2005. After studying in Japan the pair spent five years working as pattern makers at Comme des Garçons and Yohji Yamamoto respectively. They will present their AW14/15 Matohu collection on Wednesday 17 March 2014 at 9.00pm (JST).
Hiroko Koshino
As one of Japan’s established designers, the 76 year-old continually brings expertise and innovation to the runway. Her daughter Yuma Koshino will also present a collection at Tokyo Fashion Week. Hiroma Koshino will present her AW14/15 collection on Wednesday 19 March at 7.00pm (JST).
Yumo Koshino
Yuma Koshino spent her foundation years training with Kenzo. Her creations for her label, Yuma Koshino, are focused on creating a concept she describes as “spiritual luxury”. She will present her AW14/15 collection on Thursday 20 March 2014 at 7.00pm (JST).
Nozomi Ishiguro
Founded by Nozomi Ishiguro, Tambourine is known for presenting a mix of wearable and conceptual garments. fluoro spoke with Ishiguro about the political messages infused within the designs of his Haute Couture SS14 collection. Yoshio Kubo
Yoshio Kubo worked for New York haute couture designer Robert Danes before returning to his home country to launch his own label. He has been showing at Tokyo Fashion Week since 2008. He will present his AW14/15 collection on Saturday 22 March at 4.00pm (JST).
Tokyo Fashion Week will take place from Monday 17 – Saturday 22 March 2014.
